Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service welcomes you to its bi-yearly Family Day on Saturday 22nd September.
Held at the Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters, this event has plenty of family-friendly activities, including the chance to sit on a fire engine, face painting, a mini Land Rover ride, a tour of the Fire House, the Safe and Sound Hub, children's games, a treasure hunt and tombola.
As well as being a lot of fun, the event will also be educational with traffic collision rescue exercises, real firefighting and sprinkler demonstrations. The site will be full of emergency vehicles for the community to see such as fire engines, including the new state of the art Rosenbauer appliance, the Aerial Ladder Platform, police vehicles, blood bikes and the Unimog which is used to tackle grass fires.
Alpacas, owls and police dogs will also be on the site and visitors will have the opportunity to meet Wele, the Service's mascot, and can enter a competition to win a picnic with him.
Anyone who is not already a member of the Welephant Club can sign up on the day. All proceeds from the day with go to The Fire Fighters Charity which supports ill and injured fire service personnel and the Memorial Garden Fund.
Visitors can enjoy a barbecue and ice creams along with other food that will be available to buy on the day.
